Moon Rope or Un Lazo a la Luna is our introductory Peruvian folk tale for Hispanic Heritage Month. The book is written side by side in both English and Spanish. This gives both English and Spanish speaking children here an opportunity to learn a little about each language-- the main characters for example are Fox/Zorro and Mole/Topo. We even learned about a few stages of the moon! La luna creciente, the crescent moon is when Fox decides to tether his rope to the moon and the during the full moon, Fox's face can be seen (on a clear night!) on the surface.
